Can overdamped shocks be cause of bumpy ride was created by macguyverjimny
Hi guys,
I am expering a very bumpy rie on my jimny after a 3 inch lift,
I just want to know in general, will overdamped, or in other words shock that are made for a heavier vehicle, result in a very hard ride?
Will it be noted in the ride comfort, perhaps the car get damped to easily by the shocks and appear hard onroad?
I know damping is a fuction of time, so id say in the region of 20-60 km/h,
Any insights will be gladly appreciated,
Thank you

i don't know the damping rates of these shocks but in a nutshell, the dampers do give a soft or hard ride
if you take the standard jimny shocks as a benchmark
procomp ES1000 are slightly stiffer (most suited to jimnys)
procomp ES3000 are much stiffer
procomp ES9000 are much more stiffer (used on big 4x4's, landrover discoverys etc)
rough country shocks are much stiffer
Trailmaster comfort shocks are slightly softer than original
Trailmaster sport shocks are slightly stiffer than original
the shocks can give a bumpy ride if they are too stiff
