So coming off the motorway, it starts misfiring, having just filled up I paniced and thought I had put in diesel so drove to a garage and put a full tank of premium unleaded high octane and injector cleaner. Driving it up and down at country lane to try and flush it through with no luck....
I got it home and let it cool off, realizing I am 100% sure I had put unleaded in the car I went to investigate. I took out the ignition coils and check the spark plugs. Ha! there was a damp coil so pulled it out and the spark plug was loose to took it out and it had burt out and the conductor pin had disappeared or burn away....
even worse. its got a helicoil on it which came out with the spark plug and its bonded to it without a way to get it off. I have a new set of plugs and ordered a replacement helicoil which I will sort out this weekend hopefully.
Do you guys have any advise?
Also, how hard is it to replace a cylinder head block?
Cheers!

How complicated is it to remove the head?

A singe cam is quite easy, a twin cam is a bit more involved and not looked into to it, but I shouldn't think it's too hard.

As Kirkynut says, if it's a single cam it's a breeze - just download the service manual so you know the torque settings and bolting order when you put it back on....

Great, so I have got the spark plug helicoil fixed and a new spark plug. It is still misfiring.
Basicly the spark plug came loose, burn out and the pin/electrode dropped out. I have got the thread fixed but its still misfiring.
Do you have any ideas?
Is the ECU still not firing the cylinder because there was a previous fault? could it be the coil and could it be the valves?
Thanks
