Yes belts tensioned up ok, I now think its the bearings on the alternator so gonna replace that and up the output from a higher output model if I can while im at it. I heard you can get upto 150A model that fits jimny. Has any body done this, if so do you have model nos etc please.

I used a small amount of paste/high temp sealant on my new back box. However the genuine parts seal using a male/female type set up (male being the box side, female being mid-section)
I have seen pattern back boxes with just a basic flange that really need a gasket
