You have to take the hub off to fit a new seal properly anyway... cutting a seal will lead to accellerated issues in the future.

please read this forum, here people know what they say.
I had the same trouble with mechanics whe have never seen Jimny before. they said that swiwels are worn and I need to replace whole axle, unbelievable!
