I had an engine that froze up one winter and cracked the block internally so that an oilway leaked into the water jacket.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Cracked block, poor oil and short trips that never warm the engine properly resulting in condensation under the rocker cover, white gunk under the 710 cap...

Hi.
If this is any help i drive a vauxhall meriva 1.6 petrol (gulp) and its a nightmare for condensation build up in the oil due to the engine is very over cooled on that model. It uses no water but always gets a mayoniase build up on filler cap and tiny droplets in oil. Its a very common fault on them and if i`d have listened to others then i would have done the head gasket miles ago. But its fine and simply because i do very few miles we never ever really give the car a good run as we have a larger car when we go further.
I just change the oil alot more regular than normal. (it happens more over winter which i`m guessing as the car does a short journey plus the heater on full whack to warm the car up)

If you search this subject on google you will find responses.

I would monitor your radiator water level to see if your are actually losing water or if it really is only condensation.

((i`m about to do the head gasket on my Jimny))
