Take the door panel off, and see what has gone wrong with the linkages and lock.
Try lubricating the lock from the outside first.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Ours is the same

It unlocks better if we don't put the key all the way in!

You just have to j-j-j-j-j-jiggle it a bit Granville

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationTry spraying in some graphite dust in, much better than oil.

You'll laugh but a 'know it all' Locksmith that we used to use at work, when I asked him for some, said there was no such thing as it or graphite grease.
Graphite grease is excellent on Bowden wire cables, throttle, clutch, etc etc.

I've 4 or 5 tubes of it in my shed, any door locks, padlocks etc that start playing up, one 'PUFF' and they're sorted.

Well it must be Karma ... Drivers side door lock just started showing same symptoms as has been described above.
I filled the lock with some selenium lube and if you don't put the key all the way in it will sometimes work.
I intend to try and swap the door lock with the passenger one
