Gen 4 Clutch - Heavy Duty - Any suggestions?

Earlier i had a 17% lower geared transfer case and the 235's. It was only rarely smelly with a standard clutch, but going uphill it smelled. never noticable slipping other than the smell.
changing to the original gearing the smell got very noticable more often even without a trailer.

Doing bigger tyres you should change the gearing to save the clutch, or use a stronger clutch.

Or better yet, both so you can also retian some lost engine power from the larger tyres.

I think that with the 4 the design requirements have shifted to be capable off road so they seem to have lowered low range but they have also tried to make it a fun town car so high range is just that. What that means is that unlike a 3 there's a fairly big hole between the 2 ratios so instead of being in high 1 which is too much you end up in low 3. I much preferred the manual in Dreadnaught that was a proper thing.
