Can anyone help me please. my wife has a 2005 Suzuki Jimny. It's an automatic. When she brakes and comes to a stop it vibrates, like a shudder but soon as she puts it into neutral or park, the shudder goes. But when she puts her foot on the brake, puts it back into drive again the vibration/shudder is back. Can anybody tell me what the problem may be She has no problems with the transmission or engine, all running fine apart from this problem when in drive and at a standstill. Any help would be much appreciated.
First things first have you checked the fluid level and condition, the dipstick is between the bulkhead and the intake manifold about half way down and usually red held in with a metal clip. It should be redish brown in colour and somewhere near the upper mark. It should not smell burned like toast. After that the automatic transmission is usually very reliable but problems usually require a specialist workshop.
Just out of interest is there a significant difference between the engine idle speed between neutral and being held and in drive?

ADOS Attention Deficit Ooooh Shiny!
Check the idle speed both in & out of neutral/park - if it's low (lower than 700~750) that is one possible cause of the vibration, another is defective engine/transmission mounts.
