I seem to have fallen soft and bought a foam application device for my hosepipe. It's good, works quite well with wash and wax and even tfr for the manky wheels. Question, is snow foam really that good and if so which is a good brand for about 15 quid a gallon?

I fit the bill as a clean freak, but don't use the "snow" type cleaning system enough to comment if one detergent is better than the other. I only use as a pre clean or if I don't have time to clean the car by hand.
At the cheap end I have noticed that Screwfix "no nonsense" wash n wax gets good reviews, no reason why you can't use it as a foam.
Myself I like Autoglym as a product range, no doubt the foam works.

Cheers. Agreed that autoglym is usually quite good, certainly their glass polish is excellent.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I use Bilt Hamber. I watched a few Youtube tests, and it was the only one that made the slightest effort to shift any dirt.
I have a garage full of Magic Fluids collected over the last 40 years, every one of which promised that all I had to do was waft a couple of squirts near the car and all the dirt would fall off, leaving a diamond hard brilliant shine.
Not a single one has worked, snow foam is no different.......

That's essentially the same answer I got discussing this with the preferred snake oil salesman earlier today. To that end I opted for a wash and wax. The argument was that not being a paint corrected ceramic nanopolymer protected finish a snow foam would be very much an overkill option.
