HI GUYS
Please can you help
I am now trying to get sorted .after months being off the tracks with poorly engine and lots of saving up.
I believe I can fit a Vitara M16A engine into my 2001 Jimny.
The work will be done for me by a friend who is a local 4X4 specialist.
Please can you tell me all the parts I will need for this undertaking.as I can't afford to buy the wrong bits.
Ie
1. M16A engine
2. ?
3. ?
4. etc
Please can you help

The Grand Vitara 1.6 was either a G16 engine or a M16A VVT, neither of which will be an easy swap into your 2001 Jimny. You need a Suzuki Liana non-vvt M16 engine, then it is a very simple swap.

I've fitted Liana M16A engines into Jimnys, as have many others. It's a very popular and simple swap. Fitting a VVT 1.6 to a non-VVT Jimny is quite different as the standard Jimny ECU can not run the VVT engine. For this reason alone very few people will have done it.
