First service is due shortly. I always like to use Castrol rather than whatever the dealership keeps in their bulk tank. Which grade of oil are people using? The hand book says 0w16 with 0w20 as alternative. I already have some 0w20 as it also fits my Subaru. Any thoughts?

Ask the dealership if they will allow you to supply your own Castrol oil.
If so what grade do they want, will the warranty be affected and how much credit will you get.

The Suzuki oil will be good quality, it wouldn't be in their best interest to put rubbish in the vehicle when it's got a three year warranty.
The Jimny engine is nothing special, just a middle of the road N/A four cylinder so as long as they use virgin base oil (which they 100% will) l wouldn't worry about it.

I am informed that despite what the handbook states it is definately 0w20. This is what is listed on the Suzuki internal system.
