Hi guys my Jimny is back on the road again after sitting in my garage for almost 5yrs and everything seems to be ok except for noisy alternator belt which was an issue I had years ago where she was throwing belts but I've ordered a new crankshaft pulley to hopefully solve that problem but my new issue is my gearbox which I'm yet to do an oil change in funny thing though is that just before I parked my jimny in my garage I had the gearbox reconditioned at 55,oookm and now after sitting so long it's making a ringing noise that happens in 1st and 2nd then as I go faster in 3rd gear it goes away but when my foot is on the clutch you can still here it could this be my sincro's??

Sounds more clutch release bearing to me rather than the gearbox especially as it has been stood up for a long time. It may get better with use or possibly not and need replacing.

I'll second what Lambert said. My first thought was clutch release bearing which sits outside of the gearbox in a damp dusty environment.

After 5 years without movement the grease in the clutch release bearing will have dried out and become brittle. Best move is to replace it and check out the clutch at the same time.
