Help with tyres! was created by Lvlruler
Hi,
I have recently bought a 54 plate jimny. The stock tyres are 195/80 r15. I want to get some chunky off road tyres for some green laning, what’s the biggest I can fit on this (without a lift) and good brands?
Thanks!

The biggest you can fit are 195/80 remoulds (e.g. Insa) or 215/75r15 proper tyres (BFG, Goodyear, Kumho, Cooper etc). I like BFGoodrich. They are expensive but they are good on and off road, last for over 60,000 miles and rarely get punctures.

Welcome to the forum. The 195 you have now is actually an oversized tyre as the standard is 205.70r15. It is possible to to go to 215.75r15 on standard suspension and marginally more on standard gearing with a lift. I reality that 195 on it now is a good size.

Yes sorry you are right, I have 205s on right now. Would the 215s be a good upgrade? And is there any other mods you recommend for not too extreme green laning, thanks!

Thank you, I love the look of the BFGoodrich! Sorry my tyres are actually the 205s standard size, would I need bigger rims for the 215/75?
