Engine in Jimny. was created by Jimny2004norway
Hello Club member.
i ust got a 2004 mod Suzuki Jimny. and i start thinking about timingbelt change, i search internet and looked at youtube, but the engine on the video and in my car is not the same. so i found out that the G13bb engine with plastic cover in front of engine is cover for the timingbelt. but as in my engine there is no plastic cover but metal cover there is no timing belt but timing chain??? the motor type is then M13A as i understand from my serach online. is there anyone in this club that can confirm my resault?
Best regard Tommy

M13 are timing chain, not belt. no need to worry about it

Welcome along!
If it's a hard top car it is definitely an M13a engine in it and it has a timing chain and a good reliable one at that.
If it's a soft top of that era there's a good chance it has the M13a engine but most had the belt driven G series engine.
If it says M13a on the registration document then that's what's in it. It has a metal timing chain cover.

Welcome to the forum. We have quite a few Norwegian members in here and even a Norwegian language section lower down the main forum list.
