Rear winch was created by Pommy
I own a 2002 Jimny and want to put a winch on the rear sometimes it’s better to backwards rather pushing my luck on wet ground. I’m looking for advice on mounting I’ve tried to find pictures of others that show a little detail on how they have been fitted but they are few and far between. I do have a winch mounted on the front. I’d thought maybe the answer would be to fit tow bar with 50 mm receiver ! Any suggestion gratefully accepted

I would think that the best way would involve customizing the boot floor where the jack used to go and making a bolted in bracket between the chassis rails that would maintain the departure angle.

Mine was mounted on a modified tow bar, so that it fitted nicely in the "number plate recess" area, but an Offroad Armoury metal bumper -

Dave's rear winch installation is the best I've seen. You don't want to have to lose your rear box on the exhaust unless you like it noisy and this seemed to be the best solution.
