Tyre Rotation - G4 Models

Yes - all the spare wheel has the TPMS sensors fitted. Rather like the fact that Suzuki still treat the 4X4 as requiring 5 wheels that are all interchangeable - for when the going gets tough and a space saver is useless off-road..

I checked my tyres at 6000 miles and all were even so didn't bother rotating them. Below is the print out from my first service at 12900 miles. I does make me ask why bother rotating them with such an even wear?
Also Bob, you said 29psi for rear, do you have them set at loaded pressure all the time because of what you carry?
Like you, I have noted my Jimny had fairly consistent and even tyre wear all round at 6,000 miles. However, I thought I'd just continue to share the loadings and wear by following the recommended rotational procedure. The front and rear tyres are subjected to quite different loadings/dynamics - lot of roundabouts for the front tyres and driving up hills for the rears - so I want to minimise the risks of bald tyre shoulders, scrubbed treads and the sort of uneven wear that creates more expense than you might have budgeted for. Having rotated them twice, I'm very happy with the overall results. Regarding setting the rears to 29 psig - that was for a specific couple of journeys, where the vehicle had four adults and some luggage. Don't recommend leaving them at 29 psig if you don't have a heavy load - the handling driving one up is seriously weird.

Thanks for sharing your experience - somehow I don't think the OEM tyres will last anything like that mileage. I have fairly even tyre wear all around but if and when snow finally arrives in this part of the world - the tyre depth is not as deep as I'd like. Even the slightly muddy track behind the stables is now making me think chunkier and deeper tread would be welcomed.
