New Jimny Wheel Package - thoughts? was created by mediaman111166
Hi all,
My first post.
My Silky SIlver SZ5 is apparently en-route to Europe on a big boat to me hopefully early June, but from reading comments on here who knows!
Anyway, my question is this:
I have seen this Wheel tyre combo from Buzz Vehicles, they would'nt tell me on phone the tyre/alloy size as they said its exclusive to them!
www.buzzspecialvehicles.co.uk/collection...package-2018-current
They quoted around £1500 for 5 alloys and tyres.
I zoomed up the tyre and can see 235/70 R16, they are BFG K02 i think? So alloy must be 16 x 8 I assume also?
I cannot find this alloy wheel design from any other seller.
My main concern would be rubbing/speedo accuracy/weight.
I just wondered what the Forums thoughts were, if anyone else had spotted this package and considered it.
My original plan was just to change to 215/75 K02s on the original alloys to beef it up a bit until I saw these.
Any comments welcome and ill post pics when it arrives.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I remember seeing these at the indoor 4x4 show in February. They said they were getting the rims out of America off something but wouldn't elaborate beyond that. I did have a bit of a look what they might be off but couldn't find anything that matched so they could be a bit custom. It's the centre bore that is the most obvious discrepancy, the stud pattern is relatively common. They are not an ugly wheel but I wouldn't give 1500 quid even with the bfg ko2.

235/70x16 is 2245 O/D
215/75x15 is 2144 O/D
205/70x15 is 2040 O/D
As you can see, you are changing the gearing significantly.
I wouldn't run bigger than 215's without a gearing change, some do......

Don't forget that all tyre manufacturers might use the same size nomenclature but they all seem to apply it arbitrarily. Mathematically speaking a 215.75r15 should be 704mm diameter but there can be more than 5mm either way actual discrepancy between different makes and models of tyre, some are even worse.

I much prefer the stock SZ5 alloys to those. Save yourself a grand and get 215/75R15 BFGs fitted to the stock wheels.
