Anything that is car related is a better use of time and effort than TV!

"What's a TV"
I wonder if a description in years to come might be along the lines of:
A device that sits in the corner of a room in most homes, or in many rooms in most homes, or hangs on the wall. Commonly found in public places and bars and pubs and educational establishments. The device slows the human brain waves, keeps humans distracted and is used to programme humans to think the same thing by repetitively exposing them to a narrative that suits the programmers. You will find whole families sat staring at these devices for hours on end, day after day, often forgetting to talk to each other. Also, a great tool used by savvy advertisers to stimulate ongoing consumption os little-needed products to support corporate profits. Has been shown to shorten people's attention spans, and reduce critical thinking and analysis.

That description also works for the "smart" phone. History will show us they where not all smart.
TV and streaming is two different things now. Linear TV with programs will die soon. Some of it will be missed.
Advertising ends it for me, i get so annoyed by the interruptions..
Written in 1970 but still this is so true.. and goes for Facebook as well. True change will not come as long we are dulled like this anyways..
The Revolution will not be televised:

Ok I know, too heavy this

WOW! :woohoo:
Gil Scott Heron - superb! Not heard that for a while!
I liked the sentiment that "smart phones are not so smart" - neither are some of the people that use them - and I include myself in that list!
When I was in the Royal Air Farce we would from time to time get the annual Air Officer's Station Inspection which included the barrack blocks where our accomodation was. While we were allowed our own quilt covers and posters etc, it was very frowned on anyone having a TV with no licence and if you had a TV left out on display it had to have a licence attached to it. If not you got in big poo with the Station Commander.
Well, I was away out of the country for much of the year so never acquired one. On the occasion of one such inspection my TV got stored in my locker which they were not allowed to look inside. It stayed there for years and I never once missed it!
