Hi All,
I'm in desperate need of help. my '02 Jimny keeps stopping, it started about a year ago driving from manchester to birmingham on the M6 about 65-70 mph. the engine just started stopping "juddering" pulled over to the hard shoulder left for 3 mins and it started again no problem, put it down to Fuel Glitch. Did it again on a trip to blackpool but happened 3 times. drove around blackpool for a week and home again no problems.
But now its happening more frequently......trips of 5 miles plus.... the last time, the engine kept ticking over but on revving, the engine lock light comes on, goes of again when revs drop to idle.
Any ideas anyone.. much appreciated
regards
Peter T

It will be the crankshaft position sensor which is tucked behind the alternator. £35-40 for a new part off ebay and 20 minutes to fit it.
