What are the pros and cons of an automatic jimny?

Thinking it's time to get a newer model and wondered if anyone had any experience of an automatic they can share?

Use is mainly on road but also use regularly on rutted rough green lane.

I have an automatic Jimny and it's great, never had any problems, changes gears well. Only thing is when off roading down steep declines you won't have much engine breaking like say first gear in a manual Jimny, though it does have position L on the gearbox to which you can shift down to and carefully work with the breaks. Apart from that it's spot on.

Is this in 1st holding gear? I ask but it matters not! Zukes don't have much in the way of engine braking until you reduce the gearing with a Rock Lobster transfer box from Rockwatt!

Then it's not a lot short of rather awesome!

In fact I'm sure mine used to accelerate like a stone dropping until I fitted the Rock Lobster!

I love auto's offroad. Very smooth, less strain on 4x4 system and just a more relaxed approach.
Never driven an auto Jimny but would love to have a go. My Shogun was an auto and it was great. B)
