On your snorkels I mean haha
I saw a few posts a while back on here and other forums debating which way a snorkel should face, or if people turn it around dependant on weather and/or terrain etc. I just slap a sock over mine. Anyone else do this or something similar? I found a thick, long sick works well like a welly boot sick. It's long enough to double over creating a thicker layer and they are generally quite thick anyway so stop a lot of s**t going down the ole snorkel. Never seen any other 4x4 do it so maybe I'm just a loon I dunno
il keep doing it anyway haha

There was a post on here a while ago where somebody calculated exactly how much water/debris would be sucked in by a ram air snorkel top. It was a stupidly small amount. Any water will soon evaporate way before it could even fill the air box, possible before it even reached the air box. I check my air box for evidence of water periodically, never found anything after driving through any kind of rain. As for other debris, never found any other than bugs and such, which is too be expected. Although your sock idea would keep nearly all the bugs out, but I think I'll leave mine as it is, facing forwards and open since that's how they are designed to be!

Looks like I may get my sock back then haha. It's only usually on if at a pay and play with some serious mud or water etc. I could just turn it round or to the side though I guess.
And there was me thinking I could of gone on dragons den and made millions with my snorkel sock

Whether you need it or not, I'm sure you could still make millions from selling them! People love any easy to fit accessory.

Not sure you could claim it as a new idea though...
