Help to keep away rust was created by the_goshawker
Hi all, I know this has been asked before but im struggling to find all the info so would really really appreaciate the help advice now.
Sometime over july august im going to strip the front of my jimny, lights bumper etc. The reason i think you have already guessed is due to rust. Luckily fingers crossed i think its mainly surface rust so want to get it now before it gets worse. So Im going to wire brush it then treat it and thats where you wonderfall lot come in  .....
Can anyone give me either a product they recommend, they know off or a website to look at or someone to talk too, they need to be avalible in black or silver. Again thank you so much, regards melvyn

Check out buzzweld.

Statey on here got me into it and I'm about to use it on mine. It's pricey compared to Hammerite etc but is v v highly regarded on the land rover scene etc.

You want rust control primer followed by chassis in one. I'm going to buy a litre of each plus a spray can of each to cover it all :)

The owner of buzzweld Craig is a v helpful chap too.

Buzzweld!

Nearly every bit of the rear of the Jimny was stripped and covered in RCP and then top coated. Currently doing the lesser bits rusty bits in oxideX then a top coat on that and on top of everything going to use zero prep!

Do it right, do it once haha :)

Many comments and opinions at this link:
www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum?view=to...d=56816&limitstart=0

Toward the end of that post I added a chart for the results of rust prevention testing done by the Canadian military.

Additional food for thought.

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left
