What are the actual differences between 15 x 7 inch wheels with ET0 and ones with say ET 25 or ET30, going on 205/70/15 tyres? Cheers, wondering which are best to buy only be using for normal driving or occasional bumpy lane.

Et is an expression of the distance in millimetres between the centre line of the wheel viewed end on and the position of the mounting face that mates to the hub of the car. A positive et means that the wheel mounting is outboard of the centre line negative it is inboard. Negative et effectively widen the track width of the car but that is at the expense of moving the wheel closer to the outside edge of the wheel arch which can lead to the tyre fouling the bodywork or in more extreme cases can put the tyre sufficiently outside the bodywork to become illegal. It does however make the vehicle more stable and gives greater clearance for steering and suspension components when using wider tyres. Positive et can be used to move a wider wheel and tyre back under the wheel arch to keep it legal but it will compromise clearance of components. With careful measurement and some maths it is possible to get a good idea of what any changes to the et will make before you buy or alternatively if you ask nicely others on here may well have pictures of the end results.

I didn't know that I thought the -30 (negative) made the wheel come out towards the arch like having a spacer fitted  here are my -30 15 x 7 with 205/75/15 :)
