Hi guys and gals,
Been a secret browser of the forum for a while but today finally took the plunge and got myself a Jimny! Seen a group of jimny's and SJ's convoying past in Chepstow on Sunday and that spurred me on.
Its a 2005 'Mode' with FSH and 19k. One lady owner (copper). Looked bloody hard but could not find any rust on it, underneath looks like it has never seen the green or brown stuff. Interior has the odd wear and tear but I can live with that as its a 10yr old car. Bodywork is perfect.
Now the slippery slope begins. Got to get some tyres on it (215/75/15). Looking at 'mud' tyres as i'm not going to be doing anything gnarly like some of you guys, mainly going to be used as a shooting platform so needs to be good on grass/mud, will try the odd green lane at some point. Then a 2''lift and protection.
Going to have to give it a year or so before I can convince the missus it needs to be matt OD green
Thanks for the info you guys have posted on the forum to date as you have been invaluable when it comes to jimny's and mod's.

Welcome our fine forum Gee, it’s good to have you join us ................
I think you maybe very surprised with the Jimny in 'standard trim'.
A reasonable set of AT tyres without going over the top will get you to most places across fields .......

Welcome! Jimny looks great! Crikey that's super low mileage!! Must drive like new
Mine is my shooting truck and I love it, super for lamping from.
May I suggest bfg mud terrains in 215/75/15. I have them fitted (with a two inch pro comp kit) and love them, get me all over my shoots no problems! I had all terrains but they struggled over the winter and I was chewing the ground up more than I'd have liked.
Don't go matte green! It looks great now- if anything id colour code the lower half to match the top as I prefer them in one colour.
