Behind headlights and boot also. Good luck in your search and remember go with your gut feeling I had to walk away from 3 before I found mine.

Door pillars and chassis are fine, but sills, behind the headlight and the boot floor are prime candidates for rust.

It is not so much behind the headlamps as under the front wheel arch plastic cover which covers the rear box section of the front body cross-member. By the time the headlamps show distress normally means this cross-member is well rotted. Also you really need the headlamps removed to fully inspect the damage behind them.

So I went for a 2001 JLX with 40,000 on the clock. Completely untouched, rust free and with alloys. It was a steal for 2000. Thanks for the advice gents.
