I have a champion c8000ewx witch is great for me well it hasn't let me down and its bin used a few times it depends on how much u wanna spend and how much you'll use it and wot your winching if it's just the jimny same as mine or 9500 would be good not to heavy or if u pulling bigger cars out etc I would go 12000 maybe bigger hope this helps

Size of winch is not everything. All depends on what kind of money you want to spend on it.

I don't want to spend too much for something I might not use I have been looking at a 6000lb winch of eBay for £152 but not sure if it will be bigger enough

I think I've been looking at the same winch.
I was out yesterday with a few defenders, most running 9500 winches, seen one pull a defender with the nose imbedded in mud up a near vertical 4ft bank single line and no hassle.

Considering a Jimny is much lighter than a defender would a 4500 do the job?
