The question is do I make it for pukka pies or standard traditional ?
And would 3mm aluminium plate be thick enough to make the box
or do you think it will destort over time ?

Simpler and better to just use a small fridge/oven that sells for under $50 and plugs into ciggy outlet. Mine works a treat in either mode and I've used it for many years. They still sell them for under $50, I just checked their online store here in Oz (Supercheap Autos).
