Hi guy I've bought a t plate jimny witch has the sohc in it
The cam has scored the cam carriers ,,,
Is this an simple fix
Or do I need a new head!,,,

Also wot is needed to put the sohc engine in it are the boxes the same and how easy is the conversion

Alright Charlie welcome in, everyone this is my mate Charlie he's bin bitten buy the Jimny bug lol, be good to have you out in the winter will be good, guys any information to help him out will be grateful on the cam and carriers and head or a engine swap from single cam to a dohc, not to sure weather the looms ecu sensors are same?? Welcome sounds like the head is scap its a common fault easiest fix find another head as for dohc cam engine sure it could be done but you would need engine gearbox and loom ecu etc would be a hell of a lot of work so just replacing the head would be the easy option

If you're going to be going with bigger tyres then a G16B conversion would be worth considering.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

If you put the 1.6 in what else do you change? Ecu?? Do you keep the 1.6 inlet or put the 1.3 inlet on the 1.6 and run 1.3 ecu?? Cheers

You use the 1.3 manifolds, do a forum search for 'G16B conversion' there are a few threads that describe how to do the conversion, its not quite a straight swap.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
