hi to everyone i am new on this forum and need some help. i cannot keep on eating cv joints here in malta r very rare and expencive and i am distroying the same 1 in every comp. i have heard about hardened cv but i think the problems r not the cv but that it is very high .i need some help of what can be done to solv the problem and here in malta i am not finding any help cause i am the only one with a jimny all suggestions r appreciated tks

Your not the 1st or the last they seem to be fairly weak PM smoggy he has got some mega strong set up on the front of his truck but think he may have swapped to a SJ axle up front for more strenght

Both Off Road Armoury and Jimny Bits are promising hardened/stronger front shafts and CV's for this year.
I think that Jimny Bits are closer to selling them as Russ (of Jimny Bits) has a prototype set on his Jimny already.
I keep rejuvenating an old thread about it asking the question when they will be ready from both companies but have not been given a set date as of yet.
There are two other alternatives to my knowledge - Zanfi in Italy:

and D&G Tuning in Belgium:

but I haven't heard anything about D&G for such a long time I don;t even know if they are still trading - someone help me out here!
The thing is price! Now I know us Suzuki owners are not known for wanting to spend too much money at a time but that is because we are used to SJ's and their unbreakability. The Jimny is not quite so tough in the transmission department so we are going to have to spend money like Landrover owners do on heaby duty half shafts and CV's.
The only thing is, we don't have David Ashcroft with a shelf full of heaby duty stuff ready to sell like Landover owners do - see www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/ for where the Landrover owners go and what they pay!
So we'll have to be patient and wait for our UK suppliers to come up with them or get them from Zanfi - who's wensite and products look good but it's not all in English yet and I'm sure the postage from either of the UK companies to me in the UK will be significantly cheaper - but not perhaps to you in Malta!
Russ at Jimny Bits has soted his own supplier and his design I believe to be similar to that of the Zanfi shafts - corect me if I'm wrong Russ - and Off Road Armoury are working with KAM Diffs to produce theirs - but KAM Diffs themselves have promised something for a long time now.
KAM Diffs to my understanding doalot of work for the military and of course, understandably, that contract work will always come first as it must be what pays the bills much more than our low volume requests. Put my straight if needs be Mr Butler!
I would only expect the absolute best quality to come out of KAM though - but having said that I'm not expecting Jimny Bits offering to be bad quality either!
Alot of it will come down to price and when it's available.
Jimny Bits might win the race to get them on sale by the looks of it and with Russ testing them in his Jimny with a front locker and lots of abuse, you know you should be OK!
JUST HURRY UP BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Iv set money aside for uprated front cv's and shafts when they eventually start production (dont pick my new toy up until saturday) but looking at the prices on there im going to have to save a bit more

@ Kirkynut : my ARB locker and Centerforce Dual Clutch was mounted at D&G's Place last month (March).

thanks for your reply i bought the complete 3inh lift and braded brake pipes from jimny bits and also contacted him for some indication of prices for the cv have to wate more than.
just another question about the transfer case has any of you tried to modify it lower ,not with those expensive reductions just change the sprokets and make a more stronger chain a freind of mine changed a quadbike that way and he said it can be done when he saw the transfercase open with a bit of enginering on it
