is there an easier way to remove the ring from the swivel without welding a blub as i dont own a welder

Someone has suggested using a socket to knock it out, I have searched and found this

A hammer and punch hitting on opposite sides till it falls out and the same to put it in and when the ting sound when hitting changes to a thud sound you no is all the way in
