Jimny "Love" - how did it start?

So, how did you get your love for Jimny's?

Mine was on holiday last year in Corfu. Found some pic's today of me and a red soft top the Wife and I hired. Bombed around for two weeks in it, and knew I wanted my own when I got back to England.

I test-drove a Jimny after doing some reading/homework on cheap 4wd vehicles and the ragtop hit the spot for me. Being in the earthmoving industry and not a fan of walking to the machinery, the Jimny was an easy choice. Then I started cruising around interstate, 4-6,000 k's at a time and almost invariably on my own because the Jimny is utterly reliable. Now I would be lost without it.

well i went into this bar under the cover of darkeness.... it was very dark inside and a man whispered...pssst want a jimny, any colour you like,

I went on autotrader, put in 4x4 and within 1 mile of my house. Jimny was there. I Viewed I bought, i'm happy haha.

Didn't really know what i was buying i'd just "heard" that they were suppost to be quite good off-road.

Mine isnt realy my story , the wife wanted one from when they first came out so about 5 years ago we got a red over silver 02 (aka barbie jeep) ran it for a bit and traded it in
I saw potential in it but wasnt allowed to go near it with hammers so when we were looking for a 4x4 for the snow a jim was the obvious choice . . . .on one condition i get to fook about with it lol so now its a good reliable 4x4 for her and an awesome offroad toy for me

bought a brand new suzuki sj 413 in 1990 and then traded that in a bought a brand new suzuki sj 413 in 1993 both straight from the showroom then fancied a jimny now though lost my american flatop ! :whistle:
