Am stuck between spraying my standard fairly rusty wheels black or buying new black modulars for about £40 each. What do most people do? I think the modulars have a better offset?

I bought a set of standard steel wheels off eBay for £50 in good condition, so I have nice silver wheels again, not like the dirty dull black ones on my avatar.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I have black offset modulars, no need for wheel spacers to fill out the arches ..... ;)

I bought black modulars when I bought my M/T tyres. That way I've got a spare set of Jimny wheels with A/T tyres to stick on if I ever sell the Jimny.

If you've got somewhere to prep and paint the wheels, then this would be the cheapest option and it still looks good. As Facade says though they look quite dull when dirty. I think they look really nice when clean though.

Thanks guys, although I'd love modulars I think ill try painting my steels and see how they look. Can they be balanced on the inside btw?

Also the plastic cone on the rear wheels

Do people tend to remove them or keep them on?

I painted my standard wheels, they were in the same condition as yours, i cleaned the rust off an gave them a good clean with thinners to get any brake fluid off but the paint still chipped off. Ive bought modulars now, try tyres direct on ebay but buy them over phone its cheaper, or at least ring an get a quote.
