Hello!

Im new to the forum, looks like a wealth of info on here! I am picking up my first Jimny tomorrow, a red (faded to pink) 2005 hard top with 109K on the clock for a grand total of £400!

It needs a new wing but otherwise seems pretty good! Im slightly concerned about the high mileage though, should this be a problem? My mechanic mate will be servicing it for me asap anyway!

ours has 130k and still goes fine , someone on here has one thats done over 180k

so dont worry too much

If it's not using oil and not losing water it should be ok and if you only paid £400 for a 2005 you can buy a secondhand engine later when you need to replace it.

Thanks guys, thats reassuring! Its a second car so wont have many more miles going on it!

Ive not even driven it yet, I just snapped the guy's arm off when I realised how cheap it was!

Am i right in thinking I should touch the 4wd system on the tarmac? Im guessing it wont damage the car if used in the snow?

Lastly, when im hunting for a new wing, does it matter what year the donor wing comes from?

As a decoration plate on APIO states: "4WD system will be used only on mud, sand and snow." :)

On one of the Ausie forums some of the J's have done 500k km's so if looked after it should be no problem.

For £400 its throwaway almost :)
