Hello one and all I must admit been a sj and jimmy fan since about 18 now 40
But have never had an excuse to buy (been a bigger biking fan)
However I had an accident in nov last year on the bike (nearly died) so promised everyone
I would calm down (a bit ) only thing that put me off jimnys were the girlie tag.
But then I found this place and you guys have a wonderful passion and have some
Great looking vehicles . I won't be buying for a few months yet (injuries and ops) but hope you
Don't mind me picking the knowledgable brains of you guys in the future until I do
Sorry for the long post
Cheers
John

Hello John,
Welcome along. There's nothing girly about a Jimny once its had a few hours on axle stands, unless you fit a difflock that is. then its a bit girly.
anyway nice to see you here, I hope you still have both your kidneys after your accident as you will need to sell one to cover costs. your gonna need every penny if you buy a 4x4 and start modding it

welcome along!
Shame it took a nasty accident to get you here, hope you are recovering well.
Jimnys have a bit of an imagine problem, we all know they are not girly (well apart from the girls on here and there are a few), but rather properly sorted off road fun!
A few choice mods reduces girlyness quite quickly (although I do have a chrome grill on mine so probably shouldn't comment)

just get one with a roll cage and a few [strike]dents[/strike] battle scars and it won't be considered girly
the girly ones are the silver ones that have 'special' embroidered on the seats - sweet
anyway welcome along John a sorted one (with a rear difflock) will put a lot of land rovers to shame
sorry about the running in joke

Welcome!
I'm lucky in that I sold the big bike before I could get hurt and went to a Vespa, which some nice lady wrote off for me and I still managed to stay unhurt, so I feel even more lucky!
Have you many more ops / much time anticipated for recovery? I hope not! I got bored after just having a Cruciate Ligament replaced in my knee a few years ago and the physio that took - recovering from bike accident injuries is another ball game entirely!

Don't get a girly baby blue one!
You'll need some kit to go in the back in case of emergencies off road.
I carry this kit:-
