You can get a, Renault I think, diesel engined Jimny in some foreign lands, but not in the UK.

What you want is a Landcruiser.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

I think they missed a trick by not importing the diesel into the uk.
The VAG conversion would be a great mod but the engines are pricey and IIRC i read somewhere they don't like water much.

I think the 1.9tdi from a Peugeot 306 goes in & there has been a few done.
If my engine blows up then that's what I will be dropping in.

You are correct, 1.5Dci Renault K9K, a bare engine from a breakers is about £800, minus the gubbins required to make it run.
