Diff gearing was created by Monkey
Hey Guys,
Dose any one know if there is diff gears available from any where for the jimny?
See gearing at the t-case is very $$$ here in AUS even more so for me, been a VVT jimny and if i was to fit a sierra (samurai) case it would be around 30% over geared ( i think???) .
I could fit a older model jimny t-case but would still be WAY over geared
Any cheaper ways of gearing that you know of please let me know
Cheers,
Andy

I think we have been here before on this subject, if yours is a manual VVT it will have a transfer box ratio of 1:1 in high and 2.002:1 in low. The auto VVT uses a different transfer box that is 1.32:1 in high and 2.643:1 in low, so could be an easy swap and still giving you a good reduction.
The manual car has 4.3:1 diffs and I think they are the same for the auto.
If you go the rocklobster route, as I have done, you end up with low gearing both in high and low. Ok unless you want to make long journeys and then it becomes tiresome as at 4000 rpm it's only doing about 100kms per hour even with 30 inch tyres and I have changed my diffs to 3.9:1
