I'm never going to moan about the driver assistance stuff on my Jimny again.
Took it in for 7th service today and was given a 25 plate Swift as a loan car. Nice enough other than the CVT gearbox (torque converter 4 life!), but the BONGING was insufferable and you can't turn it off.
There's no way to disable the traffic sign recognition and associated speed warning bongs, plus you have to turn off lane keep assist _every journey_, argh! Bloody thing tried to take control when I deliberately drifted wide to avoid debris by the side of the road.
They really need to have one single button to enact a programmable user profile with your preferences in, because they're making moderns cars an awful experience to drive.

Are the climate controls touch-screen based and is there a Driver Attention Warning system that throws a fit whenever you try to use the climate controls?

If it isn't old enough to have an ash tray I'm no longer interested.

Physical heat/fan controls (didn't have climate control, just A/C) and thankfully no driver attention warnings - my wife's Puma has those and they're infuriating, although it gets a pass as it's an EV and I'm willing to forgive a lot of things for that lovely 'all the torque, all the time' sensation.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I've got a Citroen that bingly-bongs all the time.
However, I never have a clue what is the matter, as the dash is minute, hidden behind the steering wheel and out of focus anyway!
(It has a HUD with the speedo on it, which is absolutely brilliant, as it is in focus with my driving glasses on, HUD is now on my list of "essentials" for any subsequent cars)
By the time I contort myself enough to be able to see the dash, whatever "helpful" message that popped up has gone.
I wish it actually used some of that tech so that Sat Nav Lady could simply say what has gone wrong with it now, like my 1984 MG Montego used to ("A door is ajar, check vehicle map". I loved that car, I still miss it...)

I have no idea how to survive if I had to have a modern car that is intrusive like this. Have been a passenger in modern id buzz and id4 and they seem ok actually.
But I was driving a Golf a few years ago and as I am a music lover I can fall into singing, clapping and even do the drums if its the right music. But this time there was a bit of headbanging and the golf would not have it and tried again and again to convince me to take a break as it thought i was nodding off...
