I must admit I'm not keen on them, but my wife is absolutely terrified. She screams out loud even if they are shown on the tv.
I had to warn our new neighbours that if they hear her scream, please don't think I'm assaulting her (she weighs 5 stone lighter than me and it's always me that gets bashed if I give her any cheek!!), It's the spiders!!
She really has a phobia. We can't have any windows open at this time of the year in case they come in.

Read in the paper last week that this year, because of the warm and wet conditions, these monsters which can run faster than me, are bigger and hornier than usual...and they're ALL looking for mates....I'm leaving for Iceland in the morning

There are some nasty ones native to this country. Is it right spiders drop into open mouths of people sleeping because something draws them in.

This happened Friday night and is 100% true.
I was half asleep about 03:00 when I felt a ticking on me that was moving. I instantly hit it with my hand, felt a small insect or some kind and pushed it off me and across the bottom sheet and off the side of the bed.
Saturday morning, I told my wife who was sitting in bed having her morning cuppa, what had happened. She was very concerned, so I pulled back the duvet to demonstrate what I did only to discover the bottom sheet had a trail of dried spider guts to wards the edge of the bed and this is where the sh*t hit the fan. My wife leapt out of bed, tea everywhere!
I found the dead remains of said late spider against the skirting. I spent an hour on Saturday vacuuming the bedroom, I even had to move the bed. The wife will now enter the room.
Just to show how frightened of spiders my wife is, any small gaps where the fitted bedroom furniture touches the wall have had to be filled with 'painters mate' so they can't live in there.
