I bought a new lens for my Canon 600d SLR recently (a Sigma 150-500mm if you're interested).

I got it for Le Mans but that's a few weeks off so I've been using it on wildlife in the meantime.

I thought this guy was either having a heart attack or about to take a bow:

I attract birds (of the feathered kind) to my garden with food. The Starlings love a mealworm or ten! They've got babies at the moment, which are flying into my patio window as I type. They've obviously not had the lesson on windows yet! I get 50+ at a time!

That could almost have been the view from my dining room ;)

Great pics, Kirkynut, and photographing birds IN FLIGHT is great panning practice for Le Mans.

Year before last I bought a similar lens, and three months later I slipped and dropped it into 3" of seawater in the bottom of my kayak....gutted

Cheers chaps. I have invested in a mono pod for use with this lens as it's hard to keep it steady with its weight.

I'm used to panning for motorsport to be honest. I've been at it a fair while but have really got into it over the last few years.

Here's one from 2012. I hope it's a good one I've plucked from photobucket but it's hard to tell on my phone!

Yep...that's a good one....didn't realise you were a PRO
Just been looking at the reviews for your Sigma...for God's sake don't do what I did, it was a 120-400 that I trashed but that one is awesome, no wonder you need a mono!
Enjoy Le Mans, look forward to the results ;)

The WRC one was with my old Pentax which had an old design of sensor. My Canon is leaps and bounds ahead of it.

These are from Race Retro this year which in my view are a great deal better:

I do find it fun but I'm far from a Pro though!
