help me connect ....

Hi peeps I need some techies advice please ...... :S

I'm going to ditch my virgin Broadband (TV/Phone) services (reason = stupid prices) , but I obviously still want decent B/B for internet and my current thinking is moving towards getting something like ....

a 15GB/month dongle for £16/month to plug into my existing laptop or PC,

or maybe opting for a top-end smart phone like a a Samsung galaxy note 3 with unlimited data.
Is internet usage actually practical on such a smart phone, or is it really only OK for occasional use ? :huh:

But then there's also the option of an ipad thingy - such as a Samsung galaxy note 8 with 15GB data for only £6 more than a stand alone dongle.

what's a chap to do ..... ? :S

I think you'll regret getting rid of fibre BB. Virgin do a BB only package.

Only problem i had with the dongles is the shit signal for them go with bt think thay are cheep at the mo

Fibre is upto 60mb generaly,a dongle is using 3g I believe so you Might get upto 4mb.you WILL hate it.

think bt is £7.99 pm for the first 6 months atm + line rental probably.

Me130se is correct you can get virgin fibre on its own.

Problem is he is an existing customer so you don't get good deals.
If BT broadband is available it might be worth comparing as it's the only one that will come close?
You still won't get the speeds that virgin is capable of though.
I get 54mb on my "repeater" router upstairs and that's on the basic broadband

threaten to leave virgin if they don't sort you out get some prices before to tell them on the phone say you wont a better deal or your off to phone bt they will proberly change your deal they did mine
