Did an off road course in a defender and missed 1st heading into a steep decline, ended up going down it at about 5000miles per hour, just lucky nothing was in the way.
Felt very much like it was in gear but apparently not, the guy that was taking me round laughed it off saying that driving the jimny was too easy

My Defender's LT77 gearbox was exactly like that, got worse if you were aggressive with it. It needed to be persuaded into gear most of the time

In my dad defender im contantly putting it in reverse rather than 1st, they are literally next to each other, a gnats arse seperates them!!can be interesting at traffic lights
generaly pull away in second as its easier to find :laugh: :laugh:
