How much are you guys paying for electricity per month and who are you with, I'm paying £147 per month for electric alone.
For comparison I've got 5 bedrooms and 4 kids and use the dryer at least once a day.

Get your last few bills and go on uswitch or moneysupermarket to see if you can get a better deal. There's not much point in me telling you how much my 3 bed/no kids house costs to heat/power compared to your 5 bed/4 kids house.

£70 a month for gas and electric. 3 bed typical 70's semi. Just me and my dog and sometimes g/f and her dog. Then about £300 back on my solar feed in tariff. That's with Scottish power and I'm too lazy to shop around.
Heating on all winter, tumble dryer and washer running most of weekend, dishwasher everyday, and electric shower on for ages when I get in :-)

£106 per month. 2 up 2 down end of terrace with myself, Wife and cat. No kids. Its a fecking rip off but this is Surrey so everything is expensive because we are all on London wages (not).

Richie, the average family in an average house uses between £20 to £25 per week. Hope that helps.
