I have been thinking the same ditch my Hilux and getting a VW T4 or T5 just not sure what engine ?? like the idea of the 2.5 but 1.9 tdi makes more sence just need it to have enuf grunt to pull the trailer and my JimJam
Like the idea of the 4x4 but is it any good ???? how fragile is it ???

google results puts me off the 4 motion pluss less mpg but 1.9 is more realistic for me they recon bout 40 ish mpg but duno im sure someone on hear has one.

The 2.5 pulls like a train, but noisy, the 1.9 is ok and quieter. I have a brand spanking new 2.0 T5.5 140bhp T32 LWB Trendline coming in a few weeks and I cannot wait it will be re-mapped to 180bhp within days, fit a towbar then I can report back on its performance. I hope it will be as good as my earlier T5's. I could not get the 4 motion as it is not suitable for me to use it on Braketesters all day everyday, also the 4motion has a slightly lower payload which I need as much as possible. Had transits, master, relay and nothing beats the transporter. And it can still pull 2500kg so plenty for the jimny and trailer on the back

I got a t5 and they are great. Tows a caravan well, mine is a factory 6 seater with removable 3 seats so could for the family car. Pretty cool vans too with a bit of styling.

The 4 motion is pointless in off road, maybe good in a bit of snow but its really just a van.

Wot sorta mpg do I get pal hard to find mpg for vans ta.
