My 2008 has now covered app 78000 miles.
It's standard so as the front shocks are squeaking like mad(it's the bushes) I thought I might get a new pair fitted.
Any suggestions especially anything that might make road behaviour better??
Nothing top end but something better than basic budget lol

I don't know about mid range stuff as I have trailmaster but I did the same and put fronts on first. You'll have to budget for the rears too because the new one's will highlight just how worn the others are.

The Monroe damper is a sound choice.
My car was in the same place at 64k, crashing over small bumps, squeaky, just generally tired.
I changed shocks and springs and the results were great, I would encourage you to do both if at all possible.

Just had it MOT'd this morning and much to my surprise it passed lol
Few advisories about brake pipes and the rear shock bushes worn so it looks like a set of 4.

Any thoughts on removing the old ones?
I do have an air impact wrench and a hand grinder/cutter. The car has never been off the road so any tips on the bolts or will I have to cut them off and does the rear exhaust box have to come off?
Will the Jimny shop be getting an order for new bolts??

Only bolts i cut off where top of the fronts
All others came out in good shape
2004 and same on a 2001
Just spray wd or no nonsense penetrating oil from screw fix as often as possible for next few days

Yeah I had visions of cutting off the front tops lol
I have been out today having a bit of a recce and spraying with WD40.
It's a fairly simple task but I don't want to immobilise the car if I need bolts hence the query. The fronts should be simple enough but the top rears are a bit tucked away if they get stuck and need cutting off.
I'll be doing it on ramps.
I'm 71 now so anything to make life easier lol

Its worth investing in a 2ft breaker bar. makes getting the rear top's off much easier
If they are worn and corroded then it would be worth a few quid for new ones while your doing it anyway

I've found a source locally for bolts so no problem if I need them.
The new shocks arrived today so it looks like skinned knuckles at the weekend then??
