swivel pins was created by little boghopper
hi all, this is probably in the wrong place, hey hoo , stressed! :( , ive just come back from my mot and she has failed on OS/F tractor joint.
they wrote the following on a piece of paper telling me they were suzuki only parts.
TRACTOR JOINT 2 SWIVEL PINS WITH BEARING +OIL SEAL + GREASE, OK IF ABS BOLT COMES OUT.
i have been sat here for over an hr and now confused. its the king pins and bearings that need replacing and the inner oil seal right? do you really need to change the swivel pins too and the large dust/sand seal on the swivel itself? any help on this would be greatly appreciated, then ill buy all the parts from the jimny shop and then work out how or who fits em!! so far ive only changed all the diff and gear oils plus coolant etc, dont think id like to tackle this one, many thanks in advance. does anyone know a good jimny service spot nr Richmond Yorkshire. cheers Liam.

Rarely need to change the pins, usually just the bearings.

Straight forward job for anyone with a reasonable tool box.

Tractor joint.. ?

Is that the CV Joint?

If so, you'll probably need to change kingpin bearings and the inner oil seal. Takes a little time to do. But fairly straightforward.

Edit: .. Mr Lines was a tad faster :side:

The 100ml is for the CV and around the swivel seal, it's not a large amount. Most people over fill it

Suzuki use standard grease, I sell waterproof grease as the joint often gets wet inside

Just don't overthink it. After all it's not rocketscience. Take it easy one bolt at a time and all is okay. And should you happen to use 125 ml of grease it's okay. Not like the wheel falls off out anything :)
