Just worried the dam thing will go again next year after the warranty...
How many actually break, are we talking a minority but regular occurrence?
It seems there are quite a few topics on multiple forums around the world..
Hoping it's just crap Suzuki bearings and aftermarket bearings are better...
Stories online of 7k miles and it happens!??

Shouldn't be any problem. Mines been done a couple of years and I've towed a small caravan.
It actually went better/easier after it was done so there must have been some sort of power loss there.
I notice most of the replacement bearings are of the sealed type which indicates to me the problem is/was poor lubrication.
At least you didn't have the leaky propshaft problem as well lol

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

Let's hope it's all good, wondered if it's had gearbox problems already, the garage said the clutch looks brand-new but all the edges are crumbled so possibly a cheap one has been put on recently. Let's hope this is a permanent fix... My luck with cars is terrible, so far in 6 months it's had an abs problem, death wobble which I ended up fitting new kingpins, panhard bushes and 4 trackrod ends. and 2 sets of discs. One halfshaft seal is still leaking and it's mot time next week!?

It's done 60k, bought it at 54k from a dealer for £4750. It was expensive but the right colour and trim...
Is it normal for the gearbox to feel a little tight after a clutch and rebuild?
Maybe they haven't adjusted the clutch back?

Well it will probably feel different with the new gears and clutch.
They would have had to disconnect the clutch cable to get the gearbox out but it is possible they haven't adjusted it correctly as most garages these days are used to self adjusting cables.
You can easily check it yourself.
If you go underneath and find out where the cable enters the gearbox. There is an angular plastic cover that you remove by pinching in the sides. You should now see the plastic threaded adjuster.
It should be adjusted untill you have a couple of mm slack on the outer cable a bit like a clutch or brake cable on a bike.
Has the gearbox noise gone?

I think I've been damaging Them while locating the long halfshaft on that side... New plan is to slide it on the shaft then push the seal in once the shaft is located....

Well all done, other than fighting a brake pad that popped out all went smoothly. I couldn't push the oil seal in while on the shaft so was double careful.
Ah also left an extension bar wedged in the hub and bolted the disc on, lucky I had a wipe up round the back and saw it!!! Eeek.
I'm not driving it till tomorrow, mainly so I'm not depressed all night!-) hopefully it's third time lucky.
Thanks everyone.
