Rear side panel trim plugged holes:What are they for?

Hi Y'all. Thought I would take the caps off and have a look behind. R/H side there is a 6mm threaded hole and L/H side there is an Earthing point,
but it is below the aperture so you can't screw anything (Lashing point) into them without taking the entire side panel off?

I have no idea.
But I would like to know as I have been looking at them really hard but still nothing. Cannot see it can be used for an ashtray or a production something either..

A telescoping cargo rail would be handy? I just can't see the reason for them, that's why I asked!
I keep my Wakizashi being the folded up sun shades, the jimny is too petite to swing a Katana inside YOSH !
