Headlight question please was created by rayz_x
Hi There
I have a 57 plate Jimny with some damage to the headlights - looks like someone poured hot water on them to defrost as they are covered in deep cracks. Passed the MOT but look very rough.
I have seen a pair removed from a 2009 model - would these be exactly the same type please?
Also, does anyone have an idea of what new ones would cost from Suzuki?
Thanks
Ray

All jimny headlights are the same unit
The cracking may also be due to the wrong bulbs being fitted and they got too hot... So may be worth checking

Thanks for the help. I hadn't considered non-standard bulbs. I think it is unlikely as it had two owners, full dealer service history and done 25k. I haven't seen the same damage to another one, they just seem to get scratched and a bit cloudy. My favourite guess is still hot water - still amazes me how many people are out with the kettle to defrost a screen! Other possibility is a duff batch of headlights.
I have put in Osram nightbreakers recently but these aren't the hot ones, just a bit brighter.
Just phoned the Suzuki dealer and they are £191.35 a side !!!

Check the connector on the headlight adjuster, these can be different, I think just on later soft tops but worth checking.
