exhaust blowing was created by ne-crock
so today i've blown the compression fitting between my downpipe and my cat,

can this just simply be welded or do i have to buy a new system?

also is this a common problem,

has anyone done a decat or any other exhaust modifications i mean if i'm going to have to be spending the money, might aswell get a better system.

cheers for any help

Which bit has actually gone? I just got a new cat off eBay for about 90 quid. Not the best fit ever but does the job....

Is this the pin that fits into the rubber mounting? Our are you talking about the exhaust manifolds and seals?

Its Has came apart at the front of the cat, where the downpipe coming off the manifold connects to the cat itself

I will try get some photos of the exhaust after work so you can see what i mean,

On another note bloody hell a jimny is loud with an exhaust which is all of about a foot long

If it's not to bad, see if you can get some one the weld it back together, if not you will need to buy a new cat.
In the UK it's not legal to run a car without a cat on the road.

Pics would be good, you should have little problem getting under there with your phone. I recently had to replace my centre exhaust pipe and back box, Jimmy was sounding like a right old banger.

Mine went there as well,
Fairly easy to weld, it's double thickness.

If it's a single cam engine there is a gasket that fails regularly and is cheap enough and easy enough to replace. I think this is what you are describing. If so, I had this on my first Jimjam and I think Suzuki supplied a revised part that doesn't go as often.

any thing before a k reg dont need a cat and any after does but seeing as im an mot tester no suzuki is in 17 editions book of exhaust emisions so that means it has different limits the other cars on the road and some times its just a basic emitions check ie co no more than 3% and hc no higher the 2000ppm and lambda doesnt come in to it
