it increases height by about 1.5 feet....it improves stability brilliantly.please look at my thread regarding increasing aero dynamics on motorways and national routes on this matter.
my jimny is stock...road tyres etc. In straight line with roof basket fitted i have managed 160 kph..at 4.5 k rpm.. jimny will do 145 kph at best....on motorway....in cross winds its rock solid in head winds it does cause a bit of drag..i loose about 50 to 100 km in every full tank of fuel, but since i use mine both city driving and cruising it balances out as that lose is nominal over the stability..i can lanechange happily without that knarly feeling you get on a jimny in cross winds especially crossing from lane 3 into two where wind buffering is greatest...lane one tends to be less vilant as you curbs tree etc acting as sheild.i took my rack off recently to fit a light bar and drove the same roads and motorways and now have the cross wjnd buffering and the 145 kph speed limit..bummer..
i carry jerry cans full.... garden waste..etc without issue all tied down nettings... the owners manual does say 30kgs max..as long as you load is near center of gravity you shouls have no issues.i mount my cross beam of roof basket as close to the end pieces as possible as the metal roof rails are only stuck and melted into plastic mount but its tough plasfic. If i could work out how to up ,oad photos you can see what i mean...regards kevin.

In the UK, you can buy the bars here (but not, I think, the baskets):

No holes left behind....it has studs(6mm)in the roof frame.Antelope wrote: I've been looking at this issue too. I found this solution that doesn't use the Jimny's default rails... although how best to plug the bolt holes if you remove them, I don't know.:

That's quite a price!Antelope wrote: The ultimate Jimny roofrack? (But look at the price!) www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/be/fron...uzuki-jimny.html#tab
Here's my next rack....maybe close to Kirky's?
Not sure it's an "ultimate" contender but it's the evolution of what I have.

More importantly than the price is the quoted weight, 27kg on its own! With a maximum roof load of 30kg what are you supposed to be carrying on this rack, a plastic box of air?

Bingo! The roof itself can carry a lot more....I've had 100kg on the rack......still got a roof toogilburton wrote: It depends if the Suzuki limit is referring to the original plastic side rails?
